All In For All Kids

We are proud to share All In For All Kids, a mini-site that hosts a collection of stories, photos, and videos to showcase DREAM’s core maxim in action – All Kids Can, This Kid Can.

Our maxim All Kids Can, This Kid Can reflects DREAM’s belief that all children have unlimited potential and deserve to realize their dreams. We welcome kids from the most underserved communities and backgrounds and serve them with our unique culture of care that is responsive to the unique needs of every child with one goal in mind: to ensure our students have the tools and opportunities to make their dreams real.

At DREAM, 26% of students have identified special needs, which is higher than the city average of 21%. And still, our students have scored consistently higher than district, city, and state peers on the New York State tests.

How do we do this? Charter schools like DREAM fill a unique gap in education while remaining free, public, and open to all. We’re able to serve a diverse group of learners with innovative strategies and teaching models, and by providing individualized attention that is tailored to the academic and behavioral needs of each student. Every DREAM student and alum, from Pre-K through age 24, receives holistic support, year-round, both in and out of the classroom. That’s because DREAM runs extended-day, extended-year schools, with approximately 600 annual hours of afterschool programming; 300 hours of summer programming; and up to six years of formal postsecondary support. We’re especially proud of our strong partnerships with families and the commitment to addressing the specific needs of the community, providing resources and programming that go beyond the end of the school day.

We invite you to visit the site today to meet some of the families of our community, like Angelica and her son Craig, who found a culture of care at DREAM that made them both feel known and seen.

We thank our friends at the Charter School Growth Fund (CSGF) for supporting us in building this beautiful page!

DREAM

DREAM started in 1991 as Harlem RBI, a volunteer-run Little League for 75 kids in East Harlem. Three decades later, the organization serves 2,500 youth across East Harlem and the South Bronx through a growing network of inclusive, extended-day, extended-year charter schools and community sports-based youth development programs. By developing an education model that is responsive to the unique academic and social needs of every child, DREAM is creating a future where all children are equipped to fulfill their vision of success.
